Description:Responsible for actively participating in the bank’s sales and business development program, performing various duties to develop new mortgage business. Jointly establishes quantitative sales objectives with supervisor on an annual basis.
Duties:Solicits new business from both present and prospective customers; maintains ongoing contacts with present customers in order to enhance cross-selling activities; Serves as a member of the bank’s sales “team” and works with other members of the sales/service team in striving to increase sales opportunities; Maintains product knowledge and originates complete applications; Develops relationships with customers, realtors, and community and civic organizations to promote goodwill and generate new business; Locates and contacts perspective customers to present the bank’s financial services and to ascertain banking needs; Develops financial plans based on type of loan services as required by customers; Introduces and familiarizes our products and services to area realtors, developers, and title insurance agencies; Accepts and processes other loan applications, i.e., consumer, commercial, and agricultural, following standard bank procedures; Prepares complete and accurate loan application information and data; Obtains necessary documentation from customer as required to support lending decision and to satisfy secondary mortgage market requirements; Provides all of the above to the designated individual on a timely basis in order to ensure prompt processing and compliance with RESPA and TILA regulations; Coordinates settlement dates with customers, attorney, and/or title insurance agent; attends settlement as required; Coordinates settlement dates with customers, attorney, and/or title insurance agent; attends settlement as required; Maintains a current knowledge of laws and regulations which impact banking services.
Qualifications:A B.S. or B.A. degree in a business-related field or equivalent knowledge; Proficient reading, writing, grammar and mathematics skills; thorough knowledge of current mortgage lending regulations; proficient interpersonal relations, communicative and sales skills; a working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures which impact mortgage loan services; a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank mortgage loan products and services; visual and auditory skills; a valid driver’s license. A minimum of two (2) years experience in related positions normally required.
